Tyler, The Creator's Favorite Albums Of All-Time

This is a list of his favorite albums albums, in the order he rattled them off on "Fin", the outro to "The Odd Future Tape".

Notes

* He didn't say which volume of "Customized Greatly", so I chose the one with the most production and features from him (the first volume).

* I assumed "Love Angel" is the Gwen Stefani album, because I couldn't find any other albums with those two words in it.

* He just listed off "Volume 01" as an album title, which I really didn't know how to take. I know he's a Jay-Z fan, so I figured it's his Volume 01. Chad from The Neptunes also had production work on it, so i'm assuming, the big Neptunes fan he is, that this is the album he's referring to.

* There's like nine volumes of MF Doom's "Special Herbs", so maybe he was talking about the whole series...maybe he was talking about a specific volume *shrug* we'll never know.

* I guessed that the "We Got It 4 Cheap" he was talking about was Volume 02, since that's almost everybody's favorite Re-Up Gang mixtape.

Can't say I dig his taste too much. For all the interviews where he says he likes jazz/fusion it's pretty weird that there's no jazz there except a Herbie Hancock live album. Though the odd future tape was a long time ago now.

Tyler and the rest of OF were obviously influenced by the Minimalist Post Jazz collective "The Naked Brothers Band"

Their distaste for society and schooling in particular was catalysed by TNBB.

OF has merely switched and twisted the title of this song into one of their many mantras.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXSwVly9D58&feature=share

TNBB should consider suing OF for copping intellectual property.

I hate it when people say this. Like an 18 year old (or younger) can't have diverse taste in music. I'm 18 and I listen to rock, folk, all kinds of electronic music, jazz, hip hop and even some metal. Does that make me 'eclectic'? No. Does that make me pretenious? Maybe.

I've said this before, I'm glad Tyler has a diverse taste in music because artists should have diverse influences to make even better music, but it really isn't that special. People who genuinly love making music automatically check out a lot of different stuff and can appreciate them.

Damn that was homo.

Just means you're open-minded, I think.

I try not to close my door to any type of music. If you disregard a genre as a whole, you might be missing out on stuff you could potentially like.
