Does everybody get one of those? Haha!

Info post? yeah, I can't garantee it will be as complete as Portugal's one, but at least they'll have squads, germany, spain, england, france, italy and the netherlands will probably get a very similar one...

Republic of Ireland

Not the youngest team on the competition (average age of 28 years old), but compensates the lack of young players with an experienced team, almost 20 of the 23 players play what is to most the best league in the world (English Premier League). While not having by any means a easy group, having to face the current European and World Champions, Spain, and the always difficult Italy. Still Ireland is certain to raise some trouble in the group, counting with a cynical play style implemented by "The Old Fox" Giovanni Trapattoni.

The former Tottenham star is the Republic of Ireland top-scorer, the capitain of the national irish team will certainly be a headache for the Italian, Spanish and specially Croatian defense.

Posted Image
John O'Shea (Sunderland)

The boss of the Irish defense along with Richard Dunne, the same defense that plays an important role on Trapattoni's game plan.

Be on the lookout for:

Posted Image
James McClean (Sunderland)

He was for me a completely unknown player up until a few months ago when he started being on Sunderland's starting 11 more often, and he did surprise me, with more than satisfactory performances in the few matches I had an oppurtunity to peep (including the last premier league game Sunderland played, against United, where he was one of the best players on a slightly overwhelmed Sunderland). I don't know if Trapattoni will give him enough minutes to finally give him a more in-depth look, but I'm definitely curious to see where he's going, and who knows if he isn't the surprise of the competition.

Also might I add the Republic of Ireland have bossed Italy in every match they played against them in the past few years, even beating them a year or so ago. Having that in mind, along with a Croatian team who aren't as strong as they were in the last Euro's, I fancy our chances of getting something out of this competition strong :).

Either way, Germany or Spain will win it in the end..Holland and Portugal are up there too but both are lacking a strong defence

Very true, the Portuguese defense is solid though, they may not be great, but work well as a whole, also we have a very good defense in the works, Cedric Soares (Sporting), Roderick Miranda (Benfica), Luis Martins (Benfica) and Pedro Mendas (Real Madrid) all 21-22 years old.

Mind you, they have some good defenders, and both pepe and coentrao have had good seasons with madrid, but when they come up against the strongest attacks I don't think they'll manage, but hey, who knows, it has been a very unpredictable season

Yes, as I said I agree, they are good, not great, it has already happened before, in 2010 against Spain, they managed up until there even against Brazil, but against Spain they just couldn't hold Villa, for me the worst part of the defense is probably the defensive midfielder. we don't have a 6 who can hold a creative midfielder like Ozil and Xavi...

Sweden

Another not so young team, Sweden is in group D, having to face France and England, aswell as co-hosts Ukraine, Sweden may capitalize on a not so good moment of the English team (who is missing a few good players like Rio Ferdinand, Micah Richards and Michael Carrick) who in fact missed the last European Championship and didn't went past the round of 16 in the last World Cup.

After a somewhat unsuccessful experience in Spain (on FC Barcelona) the swedish forward "woke up" and came back to his previous form in his comeback to italy, culminating in a wonderful 2011-12 season where he scored 28 goals in 32 official games, amazing. Without a doubt the star of the swedish team.

Posted Image
Andreas Isaksson (PSV)

A sometimes overlooked goalkeeper, but with very good assets, dare I say one of the top 10 best european goalkeepers at the moment, this may be his time to shine at an international level.

Be on the lookout for:

Posted Image
Martin Olsson (Blackburn Rovers)

He's a left back that I admire a lot, he's on my "christmas wishlist" for this summer transfer window for Benfica. I hope the 23-year-old gets his moment in this Euro to show off his skills.

Czech Republic is in the group which is, in theory, the weakest of all four. Czech Republic will have to face Russia and Greece, both group winners in the qualifying round, and Poland who will play at home.

A world class goal keeper, just won the Champions League with Chelsea, in which he is the first choice for goal keeper. Also he just won the Czech Golden Ball for the seventh time.

Posted Image
Tomás Rosický (Arsenal)

One of the most talented midfielders in the Czech squad, he is sometimes overshadowed by a very talented Arsenal midfield.

Be on the lookout for:

Tomás Necid (CSKA Moscow)

The future of the Czech attack, I've seen a couple of his games and I must say he has everything to have a very successful carreer.

The Stars

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

One of the best players in the world, he is confortable in many areas of the pitch, many times playing almost box-to-box, Wayne Rooney can as easily play as target man striker or as a playmaker or even as a creative inside forward or winger. His edgy attitude and in-field effort makes him one of the most iconic players of this squad and the major star of the english team.

Posted Image
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)

One of the greatest english midfielders ever and a fan favorite in Anfield Road, he's also the captain of the english team.

Be on the lookout for:

Posted Image
Alex Chamberlain (Arsenal)

There are lot of young players in the english team everybody should keep an eye on, like the more well known Theo Walcott, a skillful winger, and two Manchester youngsters, striker Danny Wellbeck and right/central defender Phil Jones, still I decided to highlight goes to Arsenal's 18-year-old winger Alex Chamberlain, who had an impressive run on Southampton in 2010/11 and who I expect to have much more on Arsenal on the next few seasons.

Surprises:

The exclusion of Rio Ferdinand, Micah Richards and Michael Carrick.

Croatia

Posted Image

Croatia is on group C along the defending European Champions, Spain, Italy and Republic of Ireland, just like the latter it's gonna be a tough job to proceed to the quarter-finals but a victory or draw against one of the two strongest teams and a good goal balance may make it possible for the two less favorite teams.

Luka Modric (Tottenham)

Probably the most talented player of this team, a skillful playmaker and strong player on transitions.

Posted Image
Darijo Srna (Shaktar Donetsk)

A player that first caught my attention about 5/6 years ago, as a talented right back with very strong attacking capabilities, he's able to play everywhere on the right side of the pitch. The captain of the team and one of the most capped players, he's the leader of the squad.

Be on the lookout for:

Posted Image
Sime Vrsaljko (Dinamo Zagreb)

I only saw Sime in action a couple of times, but from what I saw and what I have read about him in the sports press he's the one player in this squad to lookout for, a right back with good defending routines and high attack support skill. *Didn't make the final 23-man Squad (Technical Decision)*

Andrei Arshavin (Zenit St. Petersburg)

The captain and big star of this team, the Arsenal winger was loaned this year to his former club Zenit, after an unsuccessful first half of the season. He came to spotlight in 2008 after an amazing performance in that year's Euro.

Posted Image
Igor Akinfeev (CSKA Moskow)

Despite having lost his place in russia's starting 11, he's widely regarded as the best russian goalkeeper of the moment, and one of the best goalkeepers in europe.

Alan Dzagoev (CSKA Moscow)

One of Russia's biggest promisses, he may have his big international break in this year's tournament.

Another team from the death group, it will be a tough challenge for Denmark to overcome Germany and The Netherlands, still this team won their qualifying group against Portugal, who's also in the group, just like Portugal a win over either Germany or THe Netherlands may cause a surprise in the final standing.

The Stars

Nicklas Bendtner (Sunderland)

A striker who I find to be above average, he never really achieved great success in Arsenal, had a foot on Benfica two years ago and was loaned out to Sunderland last year. But anyway, he's a reference in the danish attack and he's sure to cause some damages if not properly contained by the opponents defense (believe me I know about that, he costed Portugal the direct qualification to the European Championship, forcing Portugal to play the playoff).

Posted Image
Daniel Agger (Liverpool)

The captain of the team and boss of the danish defense, a defense that it's not easy to get through, and he's one of the main reasons why it is so effective.

Be on the lookout for:

Posted Image
Daniel Wass (Benfica)

A right back who belongs to Benfica, he was loaned this year to Evian, so I had the chance to watch a few of his games and he's definetely a defender with potential, he also played yesterday against Brazil. He will certainly get a few minutes in this tournament, so everybody will be able to see a bit of him in action.

Szczesny (Arsenal)

Despite the young age, you can say that Szczesny is already a very mature goalkeeper, he snatched Alumnia's spot in Arsenal's starting 11 and will very likely keep it for a few years.

Be on the lookout for:

Rafal Wolski (Legia Warsaw)

A young attacking midfielder who may also play as a second striker, I don't really know much about him, only saw him in action for a few minutes, but I'm curious to see more of him.

Yeah that's some serious shit, Ukraine is not that bad actually, but Poland is, they have a lot of neo-nazis, tbh I'm white and I wouldn't go even if I had money to, I agree with Campbell Uefa should never have given them the Euro, Italy or Turkey should have hosted it...

Don't diss Big Nick, he's actually pretty good if played all the time. Has all the attributes to be a good striker.

He's better than Cardozo, lol, anyway I also think he could be an excellent striker, and I think if he moves clubs this summer he may have an oppurtunity to finally establish himself as a great striker, I wouldn't mind if he would come to Benfica...

I'm rooting for Germany just like I have since 2004.

Also, at the last Euro only one person was murdered and the killer was Ukrainian. More Ukrainians around this time. Think about it. Only joking but I agree with the Poland statements. Those fuckers are scary.

One of the three major candidates to win the Euro, but they'll play group B along with another major candidate, Germany, Portugal and Denmark. It's impossible to say who's more likely to proceed to the quarter finals in this group but Germany and The Netherlands may be favorites, but favorites are decided in the pitch.

The Stars

Robin van Persie (Arsenal)

He's that forward, very talented and able to move around the whole attacking zone, he has since 2004 established himself in the Arsenal squad with success, we can say that his wonderfuljourney in the club culminated this year on it's higher point, having played in every single Premier League match.

Posted Image
Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich)

After a few highs and lows on his career, Robben seems to have discovered his place in the football world in 2009 when he moved to Bayern Munich, since then he played in my opinion the best football of his career and plays a vital role in the midfield of the Bavarian team.

Be on the lookout for:

Posted Image
Luuk de Jong (Twente)

Just like England, choosing a young player from The Netherlands to point out, in this case the problem was defender Jetro Willems, a 18-years-old left back currently playing for PSV, who might just have a brilliant future ahead of him, but I had to point Luuk de Jong instead, the Twente forward is called the future of the dutch national squad I couldn't agree more, of course one player does not make a whole team, but they also say the attack is the best defense, so this attacker may be on of those that wins his teams games, his 25 goals on the Eredivisie this season is the proof, lookout for a player that will be sooner than later one of the best strikers in the world.

Spain (Defending Champions)

Posted Image

Another major candidate to win the tournament, the defending champions, Spain, have, in theory, an easier group than the other two big candidates Germany and Netherlands (who will have to face eachother) still Spain has to keep an eye on Republic of Ireland, to avoid a possible surprise or they will have to beat Italy.
Their main weapon in the previous tournament and in the World Cup was the surprise element of their tiki-taka play style, but as Casillas said earlier today, it's not a surprise anymore, the teams know how they play and they might find this a problem, especially against the italians.

The Stars

Xavi (Barcelona)

When you look at spanish squad it's not hard to understand why they are candidates to win this tournament, still there are a few players that standout from a crowd of wonderful player, one of those player is Xavi, there not really much to say about Xavi other than he is the best play makers of the las 20 years, one of those midfielders that stands out from the other great players, because they don't think quick and do quick, they think while they execute, and that is the thing that makes players like Xavi standout from the rest, of course this combined with his great vision, being able to see one step ahead makes him even better, it's actually quite surprising how he fails to ge a Golden Ball, an award that every year for the past few years I feel he deserves to win.

Posted Image
Iker Casillas
(Real Madrid)

For me Casillas is just unlucky that he shared a big part of his career time with Buffon, calling him a world class goalkeeper doesn't really make justice to his skill, still now that Buffon in on the downfall of his career Casillas may reclaim his title as, arguably of course, the best goalkeeper in the world right now.

Be on the lookout for:

Javi Martínez (Athletic Bilbao)

A centrepiece in the Bilbao squad since arriving at the club, despite the young age (23) he's already became world champion with Spain, in 2010 and was runner-up to the 2012 Europa League with Bilbao. Lately he has played a lot as Center Back, but I still fell that his full potential will be achieved in the midfield, good at regaining balls and strong on the trasitions he has all the potential needed to be a good defensive midfielder. He's not by any means unknown, and most football fans know him, but still, he's a player who is progressing, and obviously a playr to keep an eye on, since there may be here who will be the boss of the spanish midfield in a few years (after Xavi, Xabi and Iniesta become less proeminent in the squad).

Ukraine (Co-host)

Co-hosts of the tournament, these are definetely for me the least capable squad of the tournament, either the home factor will play a big role on the team performance or the are clearly the candidates to do the worst in the tournament, but still, as I said before, favorites are decided in the pitch, who knows if we aren't in for a surprise.

Undoubtly the best ukrainian player of his generation, an excelent striker who had the high point of his career on AC Milan, now at 35 he's not what he used to be, but he's still a great player and captain of the ukrainian squad.

Posted Image
Anatoliy Tymoshchuk
(Bayern Munich)

After a few years of success on Shaktar Donetsk and some successful seasons on Zenit St. Petersburg, Tymoshchuk arrived at Munich, where you can say he's enjoying mild success too, while not properly a first option for every game, he has conquered a respectable position on the team and plays on the starting 11 regularly and jumps from the bench in most of the occasions in which he's not playing since the start.

Be on the lookout for:

Andriy Yarmolenko (Dynamo Kyiv)

The potential "next Shevchenko", players from the ukrainian League aren't easy to follow, so aside from a few games and highlights I don't know much about Yarmolenko, but from what I was able to see he's the player from this squad that has everything to have a successful career, and this Euro may be perfect place for him to get visibility.

Ukraine killed thousands of thousands of stray dogs, they even invented maschines to kill dogs even faster. The first time, whole europe looks onto ukraine and they just wanted to get rid of that image..That image of having streets full of homeless stray dogs etc..
Its sad whats happening there at the moment
for example: http://www.liveleak....=71b_1321456146
the last sentince:
"There are 250.000 dogs and cats in the urkaine who will be removed from streets until 2012!"
