Im a bad rapper but im interested in producing. I tried making a ambient hip hop beat which really wasn't good. Is there any good website to get stuff for FL? There's a sample beat im just thinking of in my head.

anybody have any tips on mixing down vocals?
Don't want to rely on effects every single time I mix vocals.....I don't want to bury vocals or have them over-power the music track. I want them to lay on top of the music and penetrate it slowly and gently. Suggestions?

try mixing down the instrumental perfectly, then export it and add vocals on top
then you can turn down the frequencies that the vocals are taking up, and then they wont be clashing with anything
or you can do that in the original mix, which is probably better in terms of quality, but i would just say, turn everything else down that always works when i want to make one thing louder, or stand out more.

Rummage through the Kb6 drum samples, and get your fix of that. Maybe get Synth1 off Gersic. The "Phase Distortion" section might have something of use, but yeah. I haven't tried everything so I really don't know. Usually with gersic I just read the description and if it sounds good I download it and try it. If it isn't good then I can just delete it.
Just stuff so I can make simple beats like:
or even
*the only thing I know is that the bass is a reverse 808 kick.
also good VST's for bass... I'm getting hypersonic now.

Anyone use Ableton? I'm planning on possibly rewiring it through Reason so I can start using outside VSTs

Are you having technical problems with Reason? Or are you just wondering how to create a good synth line?Sup guys just wanted to ask some shit about Reason. It's like, I have a Akai MPK25 and shit, but I'm having trouble with Thor/other synths on it. Like, IDK how to play piano except for a few chords, and I'm having trouble creating lead synths. The shit sounds weird to me and I can create sick drum loops and stuff but adding the synth is where I fuck up. Anyone got any advice or something and howd you learn
