I want to buy a Golf Hoodie there is a green or brown one. I want the brown one but the xs is sold out. In the green size there is xs. In the brown one there is small and i am a xs do you think I should just buy the green one or buy the brown one or just wait?

FX Orders 'Fargo' Limited Series from Noah Hawley, Coen Brothers

FX Orders 'Fargo' Limited Series from Noah Hawley, Coen Brothers
The 10-episode adaptation will launch in spring 2014 in a bid to compete with premium cable rival HBO.

Network president John Landgraf announced during his first upfront presentation Thursday that it will launch a 10-episode adaptation of the 1996 best picture Oscar nominee as a limited series during spring 2014.

The move comes as the network looks to push into limited series and mini-series fare, a bid to compete with premiere channel HBO and to fill a void left by the increasingly tentpole-focused film industry. To hear Landgraf tell it, there is a "huge opportunity" for content that falls between between those feature films and FX's long-running series, or "90-hour movies" as he often dubs them.

Fargo hails from from My Generation's Noah Hawley, who will pen the script as well as executive produce. Additionally, Joel and Ethan Coen, the writers, directors and producers behind the film starring Frances McDormand, William H. Macy and Steve Buscemi, are on board to exec produce alongside former network chief-turned-producer Warren Littefield. Production on the effort from MGM Television and FX Productions is set to begin this fall. (MGM Television will be the lead studio and will handle worldwide distribution of the series outside of the U.S. and Canada.)

“For years, people have tried to adapt this Academy Award-winning gem into a TV series with no success," Langraf said. "I have always loved Fargo and I was skeptical about this as a series, but Noah Hawley’s script made me a believer. This script is so good and so true to the tone of the original movie."

Fargo, which earned McDormand an Oscar for her leading performance as a pregnant sheriff in the North Dakota town, starred Macy as a simple car salesman who hires two idiots (Buscemi, Peter Stormare) to kidnap his wife in an extortion plot that goes horribly wrong. The Coens won a screenplay Oscar for the feature, which also earned nominations for Macy's supporting turn and direction, among others. The FX entry will follow a new case and new characters, all entrenched in the trademark humor, murder and “Minnesota nice” that has made the film an enduring classic.

The news comes amid a slew of announcements, including a new younger-skewing network, FXX, as well as renewals for Justified, The League, Legit, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the expansion of Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell to a five-night-a-week strip.

Goddammit, Fig.

If it's not on Netflix or hasn't been out in theaters in the past 8 years, there's a good chance I have not seen it.

Late on this, but

http://www.telegraph...-TV-series.html

Billy Bob Thornton to star in Fargo TV series
Oscar-winning American actor Billy Bob Thornton will star in a TV series inspired by the Coen brothers' 1996 film Fargo which will be shown on satellite channel FX.

Billy Bob Thornton will star in a TV spin off of Fargo, the Coen brothers' Oscar-winning 1996 film, it has been revealed.

The American actor will play a character called Lorne Malvo – a "rootless, manipulative man who meets a small town insurance salesman and sets him on a path of destruction" – in the series, which will feature new characters and be very different to the film, according to satellite channel FX.

It was announced last year that the American TV channel, part of Fox Entertainment Group, was planning a one-off special based on the film. However, it has now been revealed that a full 10-part series is in development and will be shown next year.

Joel and Ethan Cohen will make their first foray into television as executive producers for the Fargo series, which has been written by Noah Hawley (Bones). Emmy Award-winning director Adam Bernstein (30 Rock) will direct the opening episode.

Thornton, 58, is best known as a film actor, having starred in movies such as Armageddon and Bad Santa. He won an Oscar for his screenplay for Sling Blade in 1996.

I wouldn't want to watch the movie before watching the show.

There were too many similarities in the first episode (which I've read kind of stops during the next episodes and becomes more of its own thing).

Airing it before the premiere would just cause more comparisons/complaints.

It's on Netflix anyway.

Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons Set to Star in 'Fargo' Season 2

kirsten_dunst_and_jesse_plemons_split.jp

Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons will topline the second season of Noah Hawley's FX anthology, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Production will begin in Calgary in January with the 10-episode series set to premiere next fall on FX. Hawley will return as showrunner with exec producers including Joel and Ethan Coen, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron. Additional castings are expected to be announced soon.

The sophomore season will revisit the 1979 Sioux Falls incident referenced in the freshman run's "A Fox, a Rabbit, and a Cabbage" episode when Molly's (Allison Tolman) father Lou Solverson (Keith Carradine) was still a state trooper. Season two will take place in Fargo, N.D., Sioux Falls, S.D., and Luverne, Minn., Hawley said, with a new actor coming in to play the younger Lou character.

Dunst will star as Peggy Blomquist, a beautician with big-city dreams who is trying to figure out who she really is and what she really wants as she struggles with societal expectations.

Plemons will play Ed, Peggy's husband and a butcher's assistant who wants to be supportive of his wife's self-discovery — even if he doesn't quite understand it.

For Dunst, Fargo will mark her TV series regular debut after a slew of TV movies and episodes of ER, Sisters, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Portlandia. On the big screen, her credits include the Spider-Man franchise, Bring It On, Melancholia, The Virgin Suicides and more.

Fargo, which earned the Emmy for outstanding miniseries, has become one of TV's hottest properties as A-list actors flock to the small screen for roles in anthology series like True Detective and American Horror Story. The approach has worked well for the networks, luring viewers in an increasingly competitive DVR landscape and generating awards season cachet.

Dunst is repped by UTA and Management 360. Plemons, whose credits include Friday Night Lights and Breaking Bad, is with TalentWorks and Hirsch Wallerstein.

Fargo is produced by MGM Television and FX Productions.
