Hijacking AOTW again
Loud, in-your-face, and aggressive
The entire thing is his most listenable as a whole since 808's, but could be due to it being only 10 tracks
10 tracks Kanye
each of the tracks are so differential while remaining cohesive as an album though, It's like I can't not listen to the entire thing. The production is not as dark, complex, or abrasive as I expected it to be, that's the fault of my own expectations. Was it a worthy follow up to Kanyes last classic My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy? No it feels rushed but everyone has their opinions. Some might say it's a dodgy mix of ego music and empty social commentary given by a man with more money than sense and far far removed from what he's actually talking about.
But I think it's just Kanye
Say what you want about the dude personally, the guy tries to make bold, artistic moves. Each one of his albums are a very different sound in my opinion.
and when he has something to say people will listen, and memorize it, and play it back in their heads during the money transaction at Wendy's
HURRY UP WITH MY DAMN CROISSANTS
The entire album is intended to offend. Look at the album cover, the album title, 'I Am a God,' 'Black Skinhead,' the harshness of the opening track, the unashamed lyrics. I think that's entire point of the album tonally I think Kayne is trying his absolute best to give off an air of 'I don't give a single fuck' with Yeezus, but it kind of just seems like he's trying too hard.
Some of my thoughts listening through Yeezus
I kind of fuck with On Sight its chaotic and has this seamless transition into a beautiful soulful moment that is fantastic.
Blood on The Leaves
The melody is dope, its lyrically great and well produced
and even through all the vocal effects
his voice contains a lot of emotion and conviction.
My only problem with Blood On The Leaves is the Strange Fruit sample
The lightweight lyrical content of Blood On The Leaves is almost fucking uncomfortable set to such a politcally-charged sample.
The track is undoubtedly powerful and makes for one of the main songs the album has to show off, but just saying if the sample had to be on there it could have packed a real punch as a message piece and this track almost feels like a missed opportunity.
especially for a person like fucking Kanye try and get a baby
try and get a baby
Hold My Liquor
I don't know what to think of bound, Yeezus has a couple songs that everytime I hear I think how they should of been on another album. Bound sounds like a old LR track and Guilt Trip sounds like some Graduation shit.
That Charlie Wilson chorus in Bound 2 is jawdroppingly huge though. It's truly immense, a serious showstopper and the Frank Ocean outro >
Just doesn't feel like it should of been on the follow up album to MBDTF is all
