This Week's Album
Run the Jewels - Run the Jewels
(El-P and Killer Mike)
Run the Jewels is the first album from Run the Jewels (El-P and Killer Mike), who worked together earlier on Killer Mike's R.A.P. Music, except this time, El-P joins Killer Mike on the raps. The album had a good amount of hype going into it, was it worth it? Let's find out.
Before this, I was never familiar with Killer Mike and El-P. I heard good things about R.A.P. Music, but never decided to check it out. A couple of people on OFT told me to check it and I did. Don't regret it. This is a really solid album with some solid raps and great production. This is some quality ass work. Also, this was the first time El-P joined Killer Mike on the vocals and he definitely holds his own, and has a lot of great chemistry with him. They play off each other really well, but it is obvious that Mike is slightly better than El-P, but not enough to completely bother me the entire record. Overall, this is a pretty solid album, but wish it could be a little longer, because there's only 10 tracks and the album clocks in at around thirty-four minutes. Overall, I'd give this a 9/10, not my favorite album this year, but definitely in my top 10.
Tell me what you think in the poll or answer some of these questions:
