It's been almost three months since TPAB came out, what are your thoughts on it now that the hype has died down a little?

Personally, it's still my AOTY and possibly the greatest rap album of the 2010s.

I agree on the AOTY part, not greatest rap album of the 2010s tho

I still haven't gotten bored with the album so that's good :)

so you're saying MBDTF is the best rap album of the 2010s? or are you just comparing it to TPAB for no reason?

I liked TPAB for the most part and it was cool he switched it up for the album, but i feel like he was like "i wonder how i can make this album different from the last one" then took it a lil too far

Didn't enjoy it at all. GKMC and Section.80 were both better. I dunno how anyone could think this is near the greatest rap albums of the 2010s.

This is the best album of 2010s for me. TPB(To Pimp a Butterfly) is good and I would hope Kendrick is still making money off the album but Juicy J released a banger.

I mean, I can't necessarily relate to the album either, but I can at least be sympathetic and understanding to what Kendrick is talking about on the album.

And damn, how can you not relate to a song like 'u'?

Bruh just say musicality. It makes it less about bullshitting.

"... i can at least be sympathetic and understand the musicality."

Being unrelatable and understood makes artists want new fans cause that shit can be toxic. All I'm saying is relating and generalizing makes you dumb the art down.

Except I'm not talking about the musicality and talking about his lyrics and what he's talking about in them. And I was making a case somewhat against using relateablity as a criticism of the music. Relateability can help make someone enjoy the music more, but it shouldn't be about that, it should be about what feelings their getting across in their music and how their doing that.

I dunno, I think it should be more about thinking songs are good or not. And I don't think they're very good.

GKMC is a lot better, and doesn't sound cheesy as hell like a lot of the tracks on To Pimp a Butterfly.

Also, it's extremely overproduced. Give me someone like Ka any day.
